Margareta Pettersson is a Swedish actress who plays with Matt Damon in the feature film Downsizing, directed by Oscar-winning director Alexander Payne. Margareta plays the major supporting role of Solveig Edvardsen. She has scenes with Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau and Rolf Lassgård. Margareta has more than thirty years experience as an actress. She is known for always being very true in her roles, a strong presence on screen and she is also known as a comedienne. She has worked with director Ingmar Bergman in his feature films Fanny and Alexander and Face to Face. Bergman gave Margareta compliments for her natural and true presence on screen. She also worked with Lasse Hallström in his feature film Tuppen. In 2021 in Swedish Short Film Festival Margareta wins Audience Favorite for her own short film Tissel Tassel. She plays the shaman woman in the international TV-series Epic Warrior Women in 2019. Margareta Pettersson is producer, director, and screenwriter, and plays the main role in her own short film Mötet, which was nominated for Best Short Film in SM in Minute Film at Swedish Short film Festival 2019. She was nominated for Best Swedish Female Actor in Luleå International Film Festival in 2019 for her main role in the Short film Alma 2. She won Prize of Honour at the Movie Festival in Poland 2019. Her Short Film Alma Another Day. Meeting and Alma 1 was selected in Luleå International Film Festival in 2020. She plays the main role as Mother in the Swedish Short Film The Tyrant which won prize as Best Swedish Short Film in Luleå International Film Festival in 2020.
